Hey, I'm Alex.
crochet. cooking. creativity.
That's my life.
And I love sharing what I learn.
Let's rewind a little. I grew up in a big family
with very creative parents. As children, my
parents loved teaching us art and photography.
My mom also loved and shared anything diy,
gardening and interior decorating with us. We
even got to help with our dad's newspaper. He
was always bad at spelling so I was a proof
reader for him. I loved reading and they always encouraged me to read and some of my favorite presents were books. I loved growing up in such a creative family and I want to give my son the
same kind of creative lifestyle.
My mom loved making our Halloween costumes. One year I was an alligator with egg crate teeth, another year we were clowns and we were cats a lot.
This is a picture of my twin and me as cats when we were about 4 years old. I loved those furry cat ears she made us!
Now I'm a mom to a wonderful kid named Isaac. He is a goofy, smart kid and I am so blessed and lucky to have him.
I started crocheting to make hats and props for the kids/babies that I was photographing but I quickly fell in love with crochet and my days started filling up with yarn and hooks instead of my camera and lenses. I had also been diagnosed with Lupus so it was getting harder and harder for me to be outside in the sun or more likely in the evening during golden hour to take those beautiful portraits. I love photography and I always will but I have found a passion with designing crochet that makes me feel so alive and creative and wonderful.
I have also found a love in cooking that I did not have when I was younger. I love trying out new recipes, techniques and creating my own as well.
And my newest obsession is creating yarn and crochet related stop motion videos and cinemagraphs. I post these on my instagram and facebook page.
And of course I love making youtube video tutorials, reviews and fun videos too!
